HD9 HEADPHONES
Ultra-portable travel headphones.
The HD9 project was a proposed design initiative for a new set of travel headphones specifically developed for business travelers. The design focused on maximising the travel experience, prioritising excellent noise isolation and battery life. The ultra-portable concept, featuring oval ear cups, was intended to be as lightweight and compact as possible. Furthermore, the aesthetic was tailored to appeal more to women, and the proposal successfully integrated sustainable thinking concepts.
The project task, Phase 1 ID Pitch, was commissioned and completed during the initial design proposal phase, based on the DH9 Design Brief. Afteroom delivered the following design services:

Uncompromising Simplicity: Grounding the design in minimalism to simplify both the user experience and the visual aesthetic, emphasising clarity and elegance.

Eco-Friendly Leather: PIÑATEX, a natural, non-woven material made from pineapple leaf fibre agro-waste. The leaves are the byproduct of the existing agricultural industry.
Recycled Nylon: ECONYL®, a regenerated-nylon yarn produced by Aquafil, uses synthetic waste such as industrial plastic, waste fabric and fishing nets from oceans.
